For edition 6 I was inspired by a couple of things that I did. One was my junk journal cover pages I drew for August last year, 2025. I had gotten some new acrylic markers and I was just dying to try them out, so I decided to do a full page of a single sunflower peeking out from the side of the page. I really enjoyed drawing slowly, just for me.
Another inspiration is my love of nature photography. I took this photo at a farm in Montgomery, Texas. I just thought the meadow was so beautiful. When I saw the sunflowers it took me back to my childhood. So I slipped away from the group to venture alone. I closed my eyes and pretended I was back living in a small town in Texas on a few acres of land that had a huge patch of wild sunflowers growing. These sunflowers were so tall that no one ever knew where I was hiding, you couldn't even see the top of my head no matter how high I jumped. My younger sister and I had so much fun playing hide and seek. It was our own whimsical magical sunflower forest.
I really hope that you found your own personal inspiration from something that I love and enjoy so much, that is being in nature.
Don't forget to get outside, pause, take a deep breath and just soak in the sun or the moon and just enjoy your surroundings.
Here are the pictures of my journal pages.
